Hope Rescue Mission announces name change

March 10, 2008 at 1:25 pm | Posted in Miscellaneous | Leave a comment

Just got this email in my inbox. I’ve known about this for a little while, and it’s exciting to share with you now! I will be there on the 12th and hope to take some pictures of the sign change so I can post them here.

Hope Rescue Mission announces name change

Since 1954, Hope has grown far beyond the emergency food and shelter services typically associated with the term “Rescue Mission.” Hope provides a holistic set of services that help people make long-term, life-transforming changes. The term “ministries” reflects the broad diversity of services offered through Hope, including Spiritual Development, Adult Education, Early Childhood Development and Substance Abuse Recovery, each of which is a ministry in its own right.

Beginning March 12, 2008, Hope Ministries will replace the name Hope Rescue Mission, and will continue to encompass both the Men’s Center (532 S. Michigan St.) and the Family Life Center (432 S. Lafayette Blvd.).
