Camp meeting & "If I were the devil"

Camp meeting

Went to camp meeting last night at Prairie Camp.  The music was great – we sang some songs that were new to me and some that weren’t.  Through song we were reminded again that “Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe”.  What a message!  Let’s never forget it.

The message was really good, too.  Pastor Joel DeSelm preached from my favorite chapter in Genesis, chapter 28.  It’s the story of Jacob on the run.  It’s the story of God chasing him down in a way that only God can do.  It’s the story of a man who finally saw the most important truth in life – “Surely God is in this place, and I didn’t know it!” (vs. 16)  Wish you could have been there.

“If I were the devil”

Greg Stier from Dare2Share Ministries has written a great article entitled, “If I were the devil…this is how I would attack pastors”.  Though it’s directed primarily at pastors, I think every church member should read it.  It’s a great reminder about the awesome responsibilities a pastor has.  I hope it reminds you to pray for your pastors (especially if you are a part of OTCC) and get involved doing your jobs so they can do theirs most effectively.

Until next time,

Dan’l
